Password security

The presidential election is just a week away, and one of the issues at the forefront throughout the political season has been security. But the threats that exist in the modern world aren't just related to homeland security. Beyond the policy discussions by the campaigns and the media, cyber and environmental threats are just as relevant to the modern world.

Stop by Stark Brewing Company on November 1 at 6 p.m. for Science on Tap, where you'll hear a panel of experts discuss risk assessment and what today's data has revealed as our greatest security threats. The panel includes:

  • Jim Ramsay, Ph.D., MA, CSP, is the coordinator of UNH Manchester's Homeland Security program and is widely recognized as one of the nation's foremost authorities on homeland security education.
  • Chris Brenton is the senior director of security & corporate IS at Dyn, a cloud-based Internet Perfomance Management company that is no stranger to the threat of malicious cyber attacks.
  • Philip Alexakos, MPH, REHS, is the chief of environmental health and emergency preparedness at the Manchester Health Department. Alexakos will speak about planning for, and responding to, today's health risks.

Science on Tap is a monthly informal discussion that brings experts and communities together to talk about relevant scientific issues. It is a program of the SEE Science Center, in partnership with UNH Manchester, SilverTech and Dyn.
