Jackie was from Londonderry, New Hampshire, pursuing a BS in Earth Sciences and BA in Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of New Hampshire, Durham. She was a member of the Hamel Scholar’s Green Team Task Force where she worked with the team to plan, host, and participate in events that promote sustainability and green living. She was also a member of UNH’s United Asian Coalition. In the spring of 2021, Jackie participated in Unlearning Racism in Geosciences (URGE) within her pod that included the Earth Science Department’s faculty and students.

During the summer of 2021, Jackie worked with the City of Keene, New Hampshire to develop a benchmarking program to track the energy and water consumption of its municipal buildings in alignment with the city’s Sustainable Energy Plan. She researched benchmarking best practices and conducted interviews with several municipalities that have city-wide benchmarking programs. Utilizing this information, she developed building profiles for 12 municipal buildings and 2 subordinate buildings within the benchmarking tool ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and entered energy and water consumption data from 2013-2021. After developing the program, she created a final report that included a Municipal Benchmarking Program Action Plan that outlines detailed recommendations for the City of Keene on how to strengthen the foundation of the program before expanding it to the rest of the city.
