SMART Recipient
Katherine Austin (Bioengineering '23) was awarded a SMART scholarship which provides students unique hands-on experience at one of 200-plus innovative laboratories that exist across the Army, Navy, Air Force and Department of Defense. Her placement is at the Army Public Health Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
About SMART: SMART offers scholarships for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students currently pursuing a degree in one of the 21 STEM disciplines. SMART scholars receive full tuition, annual stipends, internships, and guaranteed employment with the DoD after graduation.
