All four years:
(AERO 301) Leadership Laboratory - Taken by all AF/SF ROTC cadets throughout enrollment in ROTC. Command and staff leadership experiences in cadet corps. Air & Space Force customs and courtesies, drill and ceremonies, career opportunities, and life and work of the junior officer. Student leadership potential developed in a practical, supervised laboratory. 2hrs/week. 0 credits. Pass/Fail.
(AERO 302) Physical Training - Taken by all AF/SF ROTC cadets throughout enrollment in ROTC. The main focus is warrior ethos, and physical fitness. Each semester cadets must take a Physical Fitness assessment. 2hrs/week. 0 credits. Pass/Fail.
Freshman Year:
(AERO 415/416) "Heritage and Values of the United States Air Force" - This is a survey course designed to introduce students to the United States Air & Space Force and provides an overview of the basic characteristics, missions, and organization. This course is open enrollment and does not require ROTC membership to attend. 1hr/week. 2 credits.
Sophomore Year:
(AERO 541/542) "Team and Leadership Fundamentals" - This course focuses on laying the foundation for teams and leadership. The topics include skills that will allow cadets to improve their leadership on a personal level and within a team. The courses will prepare cadets for their field training experience where they will be able to put the concepts learned into practice. The purpose is to instill a leadership mindset and to motivate sophomore students to transition from a cadet to an officer candidate. This course is open enrollment and does not require ROTC membership to attend. 1 hr/week. 2 credits
Junior Year:
(AERO 671/672) "Leading People and Effective Communication" - This course teaches cadets advanced skills and knowledge in management and leadership. Special emphasis is placed on enhancing leadership skills and communication. Cadets have an opportunity to try out these leadership and management techniques in a supervised environment as juniors and seniors. Enrollment in this course is only open to qualified ROTC members. 3 hrs/week. 4 credits.
Senior Year:
(AERO 681/682) "National Security Affairs/Preparation for Active Duty" - This course is designed for college seniors and gives them the foundation to understand their role as military officers in American society. It is an overview of the complex social and political issues facing the military profession and requires a measure of sophistication commensurate with the senior college level. The final semester provides information that will prepare the cadets for Active Duty. Enrollment in this course is only open to qualified ROTC members. 3 hrs/week. 4 credits.
