Learn to Swim: Morning Group Swim Lessons - Summer 2024

UNH Campus Recreation offers Summer Morning Group swim lessons for kids ages 3-13 in one-week sessions on Mon-Thurs mornings each week (excluding the week of July 1 when lessons are held Mon-Weds).

This program utilizes a swim level system (levels 1-6). Lessons are focused on life saving skills and becoming comfortable in an aquatic environment in the lower levels, and work up to stroke development and swim team preparation in the upper levels.

All summer lessons are held at the UNH Outdoor Pool. The UNH Indoor Pool is closed this summer. In the event of a cancellation due to inclement weather, a make-up lesson will be scheduled at the Outdoor Pool. Families will be notified via email if a lesson is cancelled and rescheduled due to inclement weather. Campus Recreation will make every effort to accommodate all lessons as planned.

NEW: The entrance to the UNH Outdoor Pool has changed. Access is now from the front of the Hamel Recreation Center (HRC), 5 Edgewood Rd, Durham NH. Pool users must check in with the HRC Welcome Center staff upon entering.

Morning Group Swim Lessons - Summer 2024

Click the '+' on the block(s) on the right to choose your session(s) and enroll. If using a mobile device, the blocks may appear on the bottom of the page. Please note the lesson dates indicated in each block to ensure you are enrolling for your preferred week. Full payment is required at the time of registration and refunds will not be issued. Registration for all weeks is expected to open on Monday, May 13 at 7pm. The registration blocks will not be open until that time.

You will be asked to indicate a swim level during the registration. Consult the Swim Level Chart if needed. Pre-school lessons are for kids ages 3-4; youth lessons are for kids ages 5-13. If you are unsure what your child's swim level is, select "unsure." All swimmers are observed on the first day of lessons and may be moved if the level chosen is not appropriate for the swimmer's ability.

Online Registration Instructions: please review before enrolling for the best outcome. Family Accounts are recommended for enrolling multiple children from one family in any UNH Youth Program. If you already have an account in our system, you will be asked to log into either a Family or Student Account. Be sure you know which type of account you have and know your username and password. We recommend you attempt to log into the Student or Family account before enrollment opens as this will minimize difficulty and time while enrolling. Email youth.programs@unh.edu if you require assistance recovering your account information. Do not create a new account if you have one already.

If you don't have an account already, you can set up an account at any time, even before you begin the registration process. When you create a new account, the email address provided in the profile should be that of a parent/legal guardian, not the participating student.

Note: Swim lessons do not include admission to the pool for the day. Any family member(s) not taking a lesson who wish to swim and a child enrolled in a lesson who wishes to swim before or after the lesson must have a pool membership or pay the daily fee.
