Academic Advising
- Every student at UNH has an academic advisor
- It is important to get to know your advisor
- You will find out the name of your advisor the week before classes begin
- Advisors can help you form an academic plan that helps you reach your UNH goals
- You will have to meet at least once each semester with your advisor

Overview of Graduation Requirements
- Declare a major and complete the requirements
- Each major has specific declaration requirements. See the department website or your advisor for more information

- Fulfill the Discovery Program requirements
- Discovery has ten courses from different skills and disciplines
- You must complete at least one course from each of the ten categories
- Fulfill Inquiry course requirement
- Your Inquiry course will satisfy either a Discovery discipline or major requirement
- Your Inquiry course will satisfy either a Discovery discipline or major requirement
- Fulfill Writing Intensive requirements (WI)
- The writing requirement ensures that you are able to write clearly and effectively
- Students are required to complete four Writing Intensive (WI) courses
- Fulfill a Senior Capstone experience
- You’ll learn more about this later in your UNH career
- You’ll learn more about this later in your UNH career
- Earn a minimum of 128 credits and be in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.00* for courses completed at the University
*Note that some majors may require a cumulative GPA greater than 2.00 in certain courses or combination of courses.
- Foreign Language requirement
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) candidates only (1-2 courses)
- This requirement should be completed by the end of the sophomore year
- Options:
- New Language
- Complete two semesters of this new language (Elementary I and Elementary II)
- Language previously studied (for two or more years)
- Complete the Intermediate I level or higher
- New Language
