In 2017, UNH received ~$10M to support a Center of Biomedical Research Excellence through the Institutional Development Award (IDeA) Program in NIH's National Institutes of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) . The IDeA program builds research capacities in states that historically have had low levels of NIH funding. Currently 23 states and Puerto Rico are IDeA eligible.
Administrative Core
The Administrative Core is responsible for ensuring the overall operations and sustainability of all CIBBR activities, including internal programming and outreach initiatives, selecting PLs, supervising the Mentoring Program, ensuring that formative and summative evaluations are conducted, and overseeing the Pilot Project Program. Fiscal responsibilities (e.g., budgets, personnel) and reporting/compliance issues are managed by the Program Manager under supervision of the PI.
