Do you ever find yourself craving a little something sweet after dinner? Or lunch? Or even just because? If you answered yes, know that you are certainly not alone! In honor of national dessert month, its time to celebrate and appreciate our sweet tooth. People talk about how “bad” or “forbidden” dessert is when the reality is, dessert can be your friend, not your enemy. Yes, eating a brownie sundae with hot fudge and whipped cream every day may not be the most nutritious habit, but once in a while? Go right ahead! Everything is good in moderation!

March is National Nutrition Month! 2013 marks the 40th anniversary of this campaign, hosted by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. The theme for 2013 is, “Eat Right, Your Way, Every Day!”  National Nutrition Month urges people to understand that food choices are based on their health concerns, their food preferences, their lifestyle, their culture and their traditions. The campaign is spreading the message to choose healthy food choices, personalized specifically to you.
