Fundamentals of Enhanced Care Coordination

Trainees will learn specific skills to engage, support, and coordinate services for children, youth and transition age youth who have been impacted by substance use and their caregivers. Instruction includes trauma-informed strategies to build trust, understand behavior and implement positive behavior supports, community supports, and interdisciplinary teamwork.

 
Earning Criteria
  • Earning this badge requires a passing grade of C- (70%) in this course. Grade breakdown:  20% viewing TBRI videos and submitting self-assessment; 20% engaging in SBIRT training and submitting case examples; 20% of engaging in graphic facilitation of person centered planning instruction and submitting an example;  20% of engaging in SBIRT training and submitting a case example; 20% engaging in team facilitation instruction and submitting a case example.
  • Students will engage in video-based instruction to learn trauma-informed engagement strategies, person-centered planning using graphic facilitation, screening and brief intervention, and team facilitation, and provide evidence that they have applied the skills to children or youth in their jobs.  There will also be short readings, a weekly discussion board, hands-on exercises and case examples.
  • Participants have successfully completed Child & Family Systems: The Impact of Trauma & Substance Misuse Badge and Certified Recovery Support Worker Training Badge as prerequisites to entering this course.
