Approximate time of return:  Newington 5:00 PM and Durham 5:15 PM

“Thar she blows! This morning you’ll board the Captain’s Lady III to begin your whale watching experience as we sail out to the Merrimack River into the Gulf of Maine. The open ocean holds many species of diverse wildlife on the way to the whale feeding grounds of either Jeffrey’s Ledge or Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. There you’ll see a wide variety of marine life, including Humpback, Finback and Minke whales as well as porpoises, seals, sharks, and an array of sea birds. An expert naturalist will share his knowledge of and passion for the marine environment and the sightings we encounter. Viewing whales and marine life in their natural habitat is an incredible and memorable experience that you won’t want to miss!

Following our four-hour whale watch, we’ll head to nearby Michael’s Harborside, a local favorite, for a hearty lunch. Entrée choices are: (1) New England Baked Haddock or (2) Chicken Piccata, each served with a salad, starch and a vegetable. For dessert enjoy a hot brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream. Coffee, tea and soft drinks are also available.
