The Active Retirement Association (ARA) announces a FREE General Meeting on Monday, October 16, 2023, 2:00-3:30 PM, at the Durham Evangelical Church (lower level), 114 Dover Road (Route 108), Durham, NH. The featured guest speaker is University of New Hampshire President James W. Dean, Jr., who will discuss the challenges facing higher education. This free event is open to the public; light refreshments will be served. You are encouraged to bring non-perishable foods and personal care items to support area food pantries. Cash donations will also be accepted.
Dean, who holds Ph.D. and master’s degrees from Carnegie Mellon University, became UNH President on June 30, 2018. He is leading UNH’s strategic vision toward its goal of becoming one of the nation’s top 25 public universities. He is also serving as interim chancellor of the University of New Hampshire System until his announced retirement in June 2024.
