Student Armed Forces Association

Dear Armed Forces Affiliates of UNH,

We are pleased to inform you that we have submitted a new charter to begin a Student Armed Forces Association (SAFA) here at UNH. The organization will aim to serve a few purposes:

-Bringing together veterans and other members of the armed forces community here on campus.

-Networking with UNH military alumni.

-Giving back to veteran organizations such as Wounded Warrior, Home Base, and other groups.

This organization is intended to be for veterans, reservists, national guard, ROTC, active duty, or any other military related students. We will be holding a couple of meetings the week after spring break, in order to get the organization started and allow everyone to meet one another. We will hold one meeting on Monday, March 17th, at 5:00 in room 302 in the MUB, and one meeting on Thursday, March 20th, in the Wildcat Den (Room 154B) in the MUB.

The minimum requirement to become a member of this organization is to attend one meeting per semester, however we have some great ideas for future events and could use as much input as possible from anyone interested. We're planning on organizing a spring bbq, possibly some hiking trips, fishing trips, shooting events, poker tournaments, or whatever else that comes to mind.  If you have any ideas for fun activities for us to do, or events we can put on to give back to our communities, please bring them to one of these meetings.

We look forward to getting this organization underway and hope to see some new faces in the upcoming weeks.
