Program Description:

This presentation discusses the science of genetics, genetic testing and the rapid increase in knowledge about individual genetic differences with the new technologies of genomics. With more precise information it will be possible to personalize medical treatments and improve outcomes.

Anita Klein

Anita Klein, who received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Michigan State, is an associate professor in the department of biological sciences at the University of New Hampshire. Her areas of interest include DNA-based molecular techniques that provide new approaches to understanding evolution and population genetics. She served as a program officer of the National Science Foundation from 2005-2007.
