Serra de Capivara (Pedra Furada), Brazil 50,000 Year Old Rock Paintings

 

Program Description:

Pedra Furada in the Serra de Capivara, Piaui, Brazil is a major archaeological zone that is affecting theories of pre-historic settlement of the Western Hemisphere. This presentation includes images of the mesa where the rock overhangs were painted with thousands of images 30,000 to 50,000 years ago.
