Program Description:

Explores the potential advantages and disadvantages of non-nutrient supplements commonly used by athletes, including creatine, caffeine, chromium, fish oils, fat burners, and muscle builders. Includes a summary of supplements that benefit specific populations, that are harmless frauds, and that are potentially dangerous. This presentation includes an engaging Powerpoint presentation and plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. It is intended for adults with an active lifestyle; no previous knowledge of nutrition is expected.

Dennis Bobiliya

Dr. Bobilya received his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri in 1989 and has been a professor of nutrition at the University of New Hampshire since 1991. He have been teaching courses in sports nutrition, nutritional biochemistry, mineral nutrition, and vitamin nutrition. His goal is to optimize the health, fitness and performance of physically active individuals, especially athletes, through the application of scientifically sound nutrition. All of Dr. Bobilya's presentations will promote learning through a fun and engaging presentation.
