This presentation provides an overview of the basic issues in managing society's waste, focusing on municipal solid waste and sewage sludge or "biosolids". Issues such as recycling, source reduction, composting, incineration, land spreading, and land filling.

John Halstead

John Halstead, Ph.D., Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, is a professor and chair of the department of resource economics at the University of New Hampshire. His current research interests include the economic factors affecting siting of solid waste facilities, and infrastructure investment and rural economic development.
