Massachusetts Center for the Book recently announced the Awards, Honors, and Must-Read recognitions in the 17th annual Massachusetts Book Awards. One of two poetry collections receiving an Honors award was "Standoff: Poems" by David Rivard, UNH professor of English.

Recognizing notable works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, young adult and children’s literature, the “Mass Books” are the largest state book awards program in the country, a tribute to the strong community of writers and scholars working in the Commonwealth.

The 17th annual award titles are added to Special Collections at the State Library of Massachusetts and promoted at National Book Festival, Boston Book Festival, and throughout the Commonwealth.

The Massachusetts Center for the Book is a public-private partnership charged with developing, supporting and promoting cultural programming that advances the cause of books and reading and enhances the outreach potential of Massachusetts public libraries.
