Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to let you know that Nancy Targett has stepped down as provost and vice president for academic affairs, effective immediately.

While it is not uncommon to have leadership change during a presidential transition, Nancy’s commitment to the success of our faculty and students will be missed. Under her leadership we welcomed strong new deans, strengthened and expanded our work to provide students with a well-rounded education to ensure they thrive both professionally and personally, and the university earned the highest possible sustainability rating. I met with the president’s cabinet and the deans this morning, and I am working to fill this important position on an interim basis.

Regards,

Mark W. Huddleston
President
