The Women's Studies Program is pleased to announce that the following Women's Studies faculty and staff were recognized in the 2012-2013 academic year with the noted awards:

Faculty

  • Courtney Marshall: Women’s Commission Faculty Award “The Joyce Gibbs Award was created in 1996 to honor the life and work of Joyce James Gibbs, who served as the senior administrative assistant to the UNH Women's Commission. Each year, the President's Commission on the Status of Women recognizes the accomplishments of a community member who has displayed a long-standing commitment to women's issues and to the mission of the Women's Commission.
  • Tamsin Whitehead: Kidder Fund Award “Through the Kidder Fund Awards, the university honors one staff member, one faculty member, and one student who, through their scholarship, leadership, or outstanding efforts, foster greater understanding of sexual orientation at the University of New Hampshire.”
  • Reginald Wilburn: Faculty Social Justice Award “The UNH Diversity Team, in partnership with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee, annually honors UNH community members who have demonstrated excellence and integrity with respect to advancing social justice issues within our community and beyond. Each year, one undergraduate student, one graduate student, one staff member, one faculty member, and one student organization is recognized.”

Staff

  • Faina Bukher won the Women’s Commission Stephanie Thomas Staff Award “Each year, the UNH President's Commission on the Status of Women recognizes the accomplishments of UNH women who have made outstanding contributions to promoting equity, advancing the status of women, and serving as role models for women on campus. The Stephanie Thomas Staff Award was named in honor of the former registrar who was a strong advocate for UNH staff.”
