For Faculty & Staff

Dear Colleagues,

I invite you to take a journey with some of our brightest undergraduates. These students are willing to work hard in the pursuit of knowledge. Eager to reach beyond the limits of traditional classroom learning, they welcome the challenges that forge confidence and intellectual maturity. They are the students involved in the programs of the Center for Undergraduate Research (including UROP and IROP).

The Center for Undergraduate Research provides financial support for faculty-student collaboration on research projects. Last year, more than 115 students of all disciplines indulged in research projects on campus, in the region, and across the world. Many went on to present their findings at the Undergraduate Research Conference, or publish their results in Inquiry, the UNH Journal of Undergraduate Research.

As a faculty mentor, you may work with one or more of these students to help define the research objective, design a project, conduct the research, and present the results. An opportunity to develop ideas to enhance your teaching practices, this experience places you at the intersection of the University's missions of teaching and scholarly excellence.

I encourage you to browse these pages, specially geared to UNH faculty, and learn how you can become involved with the Center for Undergraduate Research.

Sincere regards,

Donna Brown
