Overview
The University Advising and Career Center’s Diversity Network Program (DNP) provides
- students of color
- international students
- glbt students
- students with disabilities
- low-income/first generation college students and
- women in the sciences and engineering
with career exploration search skills designed for their needs, and advice and mentoring from employers committed to diversity in the workforce.
Students participate in career development seminars over the course of the academic year. They also attend lunches with employers from various industries, where they practice the skills they learned in the seminars. The program includes strategies for assessing climate in the workplace, being "out" at work, disclosing disabilities and other associated issues.
Participation includes attending three (3) career seminars throughout the year, and three (3) Diversity Networking Lunches.
This is a highly competitive program and students need to apply.
