Inquiry and Discovery at UNH

Thanks to the work of UNH's General Education Study Committee and the Discovery Program Advisory Committee, the culture of teaching and learning at the university has begun to show signs of a gradual but real change, a change that will leave its stamp on the UNH undergraduate experience for many years to come.   More importantly, it will shape the ways in which UNH graduates look at and make contributions to the world they enter when they move beyond this stage of their lives.

The terms “inquiry” and “discovery” characterize this emerging culture, and the hope is that the concepts and processes suggested by these terms will touch work done throughout the curriculum, not only in those courses specifically approved as Discovery courses or designed to be Inquiry-based first-year seminars.
