NSF has published the new solicitation for the Partnerships for International Research and Education (PIRE) program.  The solicitation (NSF 11-564) describes a number of significant changes to this limited submission program, including:

• Only Science, Engineering, and Education for Sustainability (SEES)-focused proposals will be considered.

• A single organization may submit only one preliminary proposal as the lead institution.

• There is no limit on the number of proposals on which an institution can participate as a partner.

• There is no limit on the number of proposals on which a PI, co-PI or other Senior Personnel may appear.

• Full proposals will be accepted by invitation only.

Preliminary proposals are due on October 19, 2011, invited full proposal are due on May 15, 2012.

An internal competition will be conducted to select the project to be submitted by UNH to the PIRE program.
