The National Science Foundation (NSF) has released a new solicitation for their premier program for early career investigators. the Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER).   The current announcement, NSF 11-690, will be in effect for 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Changes from the previous soliciation include:

• Deadline dates are now  July 25, 26 and 27 (specific date varies with directorate)
  

• Cover sheet requiring certification of eligibility for this program has been removed

• Restriction placed on the content allowed in the Letters of Collaboration

• Length of Departmental Letter extended to two (2) pages

• Raise in the minimum budget allowed for the Office of Polar Program (OPP) to $500,000

• More details on how to include International/Global Dimensions and Cross-Disciplinary activities in the proposal
