Criteria for Academic Honors

University Honors Program Presidential Scholars Criteria
- At least 90 or more credits by February 15, 2009, of which at least 64 are UNH graded credits. (These 64 credits may include credits for which the student is currently enrolled during the spring semester.)
- University Honors Program students will have completed 32 credits of Honors work, including a 4-8 credit independent research project (senior thesis). Typically these credits include work done both in general education and in the student's field of specialization.
- A 3.7 cumulative UNH GPA

- A 3.7 cumulative UNH GPA
- At least 90 credits by February 15, 2009, including at least 64 are UNH graded credits. (These 64 credits may include credits for which the student is currently enrolled during the spring semester.)
- A 3.2 cumulative UNH GPA
- Students earning an associate degree must have earned 32 or more credits by February 15, 2009, including at least 12 UNH graded credits. (These 12 credits may include credits for which the student is currently enrolled during the spring semester.)
- A 3.2 cumulative UNH GPA
- Enrollment in the UNH Honors Program is not required for participation in the Honors Convocation.
- Invitations to students who meet the requirements to participate in the Honors Convocation will be mailed the week of March 16, 2009.
- Invitations to participate in the Honors Convocation are based on a students credit hours and their GPA. Non-graduating students who have not met their degree requirements for graduation but do have the required credits and GPA for academic honors will receive invitations. Non-graduating students may attend the ceremony, but are still required to purchase and wear a cap and gown. If a non-graduating student maintains their GPA, they will be invited to the Honors Convocation again the following year.
Students or parents with questions regarding criteria or qualifications for honors should contact the Registrar's Office at 603-862-1500. However, specific information about grades or averages must be discussed in person, with the student only, and cannot be given over the phone.
