Benjamin Bronstein Endowed Scholarship

The Benjamin Bronstein Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to an UNH sophomore or junior undergraduate premedical (MD/DO only) student(s) who have a demonstrated balance of a) excellence in academic achievement, b) community service, c) leadership potential, and c) the drive and determination to become a highly competent and respected doctor. Financial need is not a factor.

The award announced this semester will be applied to the Fall 2014 semester.

To be eligible, students must:

  1. Be a UNH student registered with the Health Professions Advising Office.

  2. Have a minimum of 26 earned credits at UNH.
  3. Be a continuing full-time student during the 2014-2015 academic year.
  4. Complete the Ben Bronstein Endowed Scholarship Student Award Application (below)
  5. Write a letter of introduction addressed to the “Ben Bronstein Endowed Scholarship Committee” that includes:
    A personal statement detailing personal experiences and events that have influenced and motivated your decision to pursue a career in medicine.
    A summary of your academic experiences, goals, and accomplishments relevant to the scholarship criteria that you believe make you a competitive applicant.
  6. Submit a resume that includes work and volunteer experiences, extracurricular activities, academic honors and awards, and other pertinent information.
    Additional Assistance: The University Advising & Career Center (UACC - Hood House) offers resources on resume writing. Walk-in hours for a quick consultation (10 minutes) are Monday-Thursday, Noon-2pm, Hood House, Room 11. Let them know it will be for a HP scholarship.   7. Conduct check
  8. Academic Record check
  9. Submit the form and other required materials NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, March 7th, 2014 at 5:00 PM.
