Arts for Life Opening Reception
Alumni, community members, faculty, students, and staff inaugurated Arts for Life, a yearlong celebration of the fine and performing arts at the University of New Hampshire, with an opening reception on Friday, October 8, 2010, 5-7 p.m. at the Museum of Art. Kenneth Fuld, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, delivered remarks and introduced special guest and keynote speaker Van McLeod, Commissioner of the NH Department of Cultural Resources (learn more about Van McLeod). Music students and faculty performed on flute and piano, theatre and dance students dressed in period costume and mingled in character, and studio art faculty artwork was exhibited throughout the Museum. Refreshments were served. Guests were invited to attend a performance of the rock-opera Rent or a Music Faculty Recital after the reception.
In 2010–2011, the University embraces the past and
enriches the future, honoring the Paul Creative Arts Center’s
50th year and setting the stage for continued great works.
