Walk UNH June 6 as Part of WalkNH Week
Wednesday, June 6, the UNH community will participate in the state-backed initiative WalkNH, a weeklong event that promotes walking for health.
Participants can walk for as long as they want between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Check-in will take place in the lobby of the Whittemore Center, where the walk begins.
Register online now through June 1, attend the walk, and your name will be will be entered into a raffle for prizes donated by the campus community. In-person registration will also be available the day of the walk but those entrants will not be eligible for the raffles.
From the Whittemore Center, walkers will travel down Main Street toward the Thompson School of Applied Science, cross North Road, pass the Equine Center, and head toward the Child Study Development Center (CSDC). At the intersection of Mast and O'Kane, the route will turn right onto O'Kane Road, the 1-mile mark. Continuing on to Woodman Farm and back is 3.1 miles.

Gov. John Lynch has declared June 1-7 as WalkNH Week. The first event took place in 2005, launched as a way to get people of all ages to adopt walking as part of a healthy lifestyle.
The UNH walk is sponsored by the Office of Human Resources, Healthy UNH, and UNH Campus Recreation.
In the event of rain, the walk will be held on the concourse inside the Whittemore Center.
