The program director who oversees the club and intramural sports programs at Indiana University has been named the new director of Campus Recreation. Stacey Hall will begin her new job at UNH Aug. 6. She replaces Denny Byrne who retired earlier this year.
“I am extremely excited to begin working with Stacey as she brings her considerable experience and perspective to bear at a critical time for UNH,” says Kevin Charles, assistant vice president for Student and Academic Services. “Campus Recreation has experienced significant challenges in recent years as the growth in enrollment and student interest in recreation and wellness have placed great pressure on the department, including the Whittemore Center Arena, for access to programs and facilities. Stacey has just the right experience and expertise to lead an outstanding staff as they address these challenges on behalf of our students, and I anticipate a very bright future.”
Hall has a Ph.D. in leisure behavior with a minor in higher education, and a master’s degree in recreational sports administration, both from Indiana University.
“I am excited and honored to serve as the next director of Campus Recreation, which is such a distinguished program in our field,” Hall said. “During my campus interview, I had the pleasure of meeting several faculty and staff who are passionate about UNH and the important role campus recreation has on campus. I am eager to meet more colleagues when I get to campus in a few weeks to learn how we can work together to further meet the needs of our students, faculty, staff, and community.
