Theater and Dance Students Chosen by Tony Winner
UNH theater majors Nickolas Iannotti and Gabrielle Archambault.
Two students from the department of theatre and dance were selected to participate in a class taught by Tony Award-winning musical theatre composer Jason Robert Brown at the 60th annual New England Theatre Conference convention, which took place Nov. 17-19 in Natick, Mass.
Juniors Gabrielle Archambault and Nickolas Iannotti, theater majors with a musical theater emphasis, were chosen by Brown to attend the class along with Tara Jean Conway ‘06. The class centered on the development and presentation of musical theater songs.
Brown won the Tony Award for Best Score for “Parade” which ran on Broadway in 1998. He was one of the composers nominated for a Tony in 2003 for the score of “Urban Cowboy”.
The New England Theatre Conference supports quality theatre in the region. The UNH department of theatre and dance is an NETC member, with faculty and alumni presenting workshops and classes annually.
