November 9, 2011
Jim Malley, professor of civil engineering in the Environmental Research Group, has been honored with the Golden Spigot award from the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the international nonprofit education association dedicated to safe water. Malley will receive the award on Monday (Nov. 14) in Phoenix at the association’s annual Water Quality and Technology Conference. Malley, an international expert on water treatment technology, received the award in recognition of his 20 years of exemplary service to the AWWA’s Water Quality and Technology Division.
“My goal is to be a small part of this 50,000-member organization through teaching, research and engagement in efforts to improve the drinking water of two billion people worldwide by the time I retire,” says Malley.
