UNH IT Academic Technology is planning a major Web infrastructure upgrade, to be completed during November and December, 2011. What does this mean to you? Faster Web sites, quicker Web site deployments, more capacity, and less downtime.

This new LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySql and PHP) stack will run UNH’s high-performance, scalable Web applications.  The robust infrastructure will exceed UNH’s demand for complex web applications and its increasing web traffic.   The high availability and centralized management will allow rapid application deployments.   Reconfiguration and online upgrades will be completed without interruption of client processing.  Our first round of automated performance testing was successful.

During this time, there will be limited ability to launch a new website on the production (live) server. The ability to update and maintain existing websites and new web development in the test environment will not be impacted.

Performance and security testing will continue in the test environment for the next few weeks.

We will be soliciting assistance from individual Web managers for hands-on testing of their websites during this time.  More information will be delivered to your inbox soon.  For dates and times, please refer the IT Scheduled Maintenance page or the Web Solutions home page.
