Artist Janvier Rollande Presents Slide Lecture April 6 A slide lecture by Maine artist Janvier Rollande will be presented by the Museum of Art Wednesday, April 6 at noon in Room A219, Paul Creative Arts Center. Rollande's lecture is offered as part of the Museum's ArtBreak: Brown Bag Lunch series of programs. Her work is included in the Museum of Art's current exhibition, "ReView: Recent Work by UNH Alumni." The exhibition and lecture are open to the public free of charge.

Two of Rollande's graphite portraits, "Portrait of Sage" (2008) and "Adieu, Maman" (2009), are included in the Museum of Art's current exhibition. Her drawings capture arresting details verging on photorealism, depicting her subjects in naturalistic poses and settings.

Her work is included in the collections of The Art Institute of Chicago and the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock as well as in numerous private collections throughout the country, and has been shown in galleries in NYC, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, as well as the Portland Museum of Art in Portland, Maine and the Center for Contemporary Art in Rockport, Maine.

In 2008, Rollande's work was featured in a 10-page article in American Artist magazine titled: "Portraits as a Vehicle for Self-Expression". In 2009, North Light Books included two of her drawings in their book: "Strokes of Genius 2."

The Museum of Art is open during the academic year: Monday-Wednesday, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.; closed Fridays and university holidays, including March 11-20.
