Vice President for Advancement Candidate to Visit Campus Sept. 9 and 10

A candidate for the position of Vice President for Advancement will visit campus this week. The search committee invites the UNH campus community to meet Peter Weiler, senior vice president for development and president, The Ohio State University Foundation, in an open forum on Thursday, Sept. 9, from 12:45 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Strafford Room of the MUB. A second open meeting will be held Friday, Sept. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., in the board of trustee’s conference room in Thompson Hall.
Weiler arrived at Ohio State from Penn State University in March , 2008. He began his career in higher education administration at UCLA in 1979 as assistant director of undergraduate orientation programs. In 1980, he was appointed assistant dean of students and later promoted to associate dean of students.
In 1986 he joined the University of Vermont as their first major gifts officer and was
later appointed director of alumni relations. He became assistant vice president
and executive director of the Penn State Alumni Association in 1989. In 1996, Weiler was named associate vice president for development and alumni relations at Penn State. He was named vice president in 2006. He has served as a consultant to several other universities in the area of institutional advancement and on several Council for Advancement and Support Education commissions and boards.
