Healthy UNH Will Come to You
September 8, 2010
Do you know about Healthy UNH? Do you want to learn more about how health and health care spending impact UNH? Do you want to know about what you can do to improve your health and the health of UNH as a whole?
I am writing to invite you to schedule a Healthy UNH Brown Bag Series presentation for one of your fall departmental meetings.
Healthy UNH is an initiative stemming from President Mark Huddleston’s office that is working to make UNH the healthiest campus community in the country by 2020. The initiative has partnered with USNH, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, and many UNH departments to help improve the health of our entire campus population and, as a result, to decrease spending on the employee health insurance benefit. Part of Healthy UNH is a series of Brown Bag presentations available to you and your department.
The first presentation in the Brown Bag Series will discuss the work of Healthy UNH and provide an overview of health cost. The presentation includes a 20-minute video about Healthy UNH and a 40-minute facilitated discussion about how we, as a campus population, can work together to make better decisions about our health and health care. In this session, we hope to provide faculty and staff an understanding of how health and health care impacts UNH as a whole, and how the UNH community can work together to improve health.
In the next few weeks, my office will begin contacting departments and organizations across campus to schedule presentations by Healthy UNH staff. If you would like to schedule a presentation beforehand or if you have questions about these presentations please feel free to contact me directly; I look forward to speaking with you. We will also be scheduling a few open presentations in the MUB this fall for those unable to host or attend departmental presentations.
