It Pays to Get Healthy with Healthy Returns

The reward of good health for making positive lifestyle changes should be motivation enough for anyone to do so but just in case, UNH’s Healthy Returns program sweetens the pot with Visa gift cards.

That’s right: sign up to participant in the Healthy Returns program and you could be eligible for a $10, $25 or $50 gift card. That’s like getting cash just for taking the time to check your blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, and weight and, if you’re a smoker, to get help quitting.

All you have to do is attend a Healthy Returns screening session. It only takes about 30 minutes.  The results of the screening will help you carve out a plan to maintain or attain good health in each area.

The program is sponsored by USNH Human Resources and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and is open to all benefited employees—you don’t have to be a Harvard Pilgrim subscriber to participate.

Screenings will take place Oct. 20, from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. or 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the MUB Strafford Room, and Oct. 26 or Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the MUB room 338/340.

New participants and those who completed both the fall 2009 and spring 2010 session will receive a $25 Visa card. Returning participants will receive Visa cards based on the following: $10 participating; $25 for participating and reaching one goal; $50 for participating and reaching two or more goals.

Blood pressure control

Weight management

Cholesterol management

Glucose management

Smoking cessation

USNH sponsors Weight Watchers at work and the StressEraser program to support behavioral changes.
