Children and Teens' Summer Art Camp Offered At the Museum Of Art

The Museum of Art is offering weeklong summer art classes for children and teens Monday through Friday, August 2-6 and August 9-13. Students in grades 4–2 have a wide variety of classes to choose from and may sign up for morning (9 a.m. to noon) or afternoon sessions (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.) or both. The cost is $125 per session or $225 for two sessions during the same week.
At the end of each week, students are invited to share their work in a special exhibition held by the Museum of Art. Classes include the cost of basic materials. Lunch is not provided, but students are welcome to bring their lunches to enjoy in the Paul Creative Arts Center. Supervision is provided during the lunch hour. Pre-registration is required by July 16.
August 2-6, morning session classes for grades 4 – 6: Introduction to Drawing with instructor Gretchen Woodman; Fun with Photography with instructor Julie Hamel; and Beginner Fiber Artswith instructor Tameson O’Brien. Classes for grades 7–9 include Intermediate Painting with instructor Judy Krassowski; and IntermediateWatercolorwith instructor Mary Mojica.
The morning class for grades 9-12 is Chinese Brush Painting with instructor Bruce Iverson.
Classes during the afternoon session (1– 4 pm) for grades 4 – 6 include Introduction to Watercolor with instructor Mary Mojica; and Introduction to Painting with instructor Judy Krassowski.
For grades 7 – 9, the classes offered are Introduction to Printmaking with instructor Gretchen Woodman; Intermediate Fiber Arts with instructor Tameson O’Brien; and Photography with instructor Julie Hamel. For grades 9-12 the class offered is Advanced Drawing & Portfolio Developmentwith instructor Tom Hibsham.
August 9 - August 13, morning session for grades 4 – 6 is Art BoxI with instructor Kimberly Olson; for grades 7 – 9, Wire: 3D Forms & Jewelrywith instructor Judy Krassowski; and for grades 9-12, Photography with instructor Julie Hamel. During the afternoon session, the class offered for grades 4- 6 isArt Box IIwith instructor Kimberly Olson; for grades 7-9, Hand-building with Claywith Instructor Meghan E. Samson; and the class offered for grades 9-12 is Digital Photography with instructor Julie Hamel.
