Thirty student employees in the Office of Business Affairs are the recipients of $250 textbook scholarships given by Fred Kfoury ('64) and Richard Kfoury ('68) of Central Paper Products Co. of Manchester.
Central Paper supplies paper and plastic products to UNH. In April 2007, the company agreed to give the university two percent of the total sales, and hoped the plan might become a prototype for other companies.
David May, assistant vice president of business affairs, decided to use the money to help students buy textbooks. Last year, 13 students working under the Office of Business Affairs umbrella received scholarships.
“It is one of the highlights of the year for me as a manager,” says May. “The generosity of Fred Kfoury and Central Paper allows the Office of Business Affairs the opportunity to recognize outstanding students for their hard work and dedication. Student employees are critical in helping us achieve superior service to the University community.”
The Office of Business Affairs includes dining, housing, printing and mail services, conferences and catering, and the New England Center.
