Winter Break Power Down

Before leaving for UNH’s winter break, remember to give your office electronics a much-deserved break of their own by powering down. Turn off all computers, lights, office equipment and electronics – often as simple as turning off the power strip that feeds them all – and you can help save thousands of dollars and reduce emissions.
According to the UNH Energy Task Force, electronics can draw up to 30 percent of their total energy use when they are turned off but still plugged in. For more information on powering down and other energy-saving tips, go to http://www.energy.unh.edu/tips.html.
