Barbara Bonney to Perform at UNH in January

The UNH Celebrity Series will present soprano soloist Barbara Bonney Sunday, Jan.30, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Paul Creative Arts Center’s Johnson Theatre.
Bonny (’78 ’00H) is considered one of the world’s most accomplished lyric sopranos. She will return to UNH for a recital of lieder accompanied by pianist Arlene Kies. Her program will include Robert Schumann’s “Dichterliebe” op. 48, songs by Edvard Grieg, and Richard Strauss’ “Four Last Songs.”
Bonney has made more than 100 recordings and is currently a professor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, as well as a guest professor of the Royal Academy of Music in London.
A master class will be held on Tuesday, Feb.1, from 12:40 to 2 p.m., in the Johnson Theatre.
