IT Makes Account Password Management Easier
August 4, 2010
UNH IT has improved and expanded its password management service. You can now manage more of your accounts in one place - at “login help.” The login help service is available on the UNH IT accounts webpage and on Blackboard.
A listing of all accounts that can be managed through login help is available on the UNH IT Accounts website; some of the newly added accounts are Exchange e-mail, Secure Wireless, VPN’s (virtual private networks, including Enterprise VPN and Faculty Staff VPN), Office Communication Suite, and AD (active directory). Note: Banner, WebI, Document Imaging/Xtender, and WISE accounts are not included.
The login help service offers the following features:
- One universal username and password for all included accounts.
- Activate accounts and reset passwords online at the same time.
- Create a strong password according to best practices.
- Reset a forgotten password any time of the day by answering your Security Question.
- Change your password online, anytime.
To take advantage of the login help self-service for linking up existing accounts, go to the UNH IT Accounts website (accounts.unh.edu), click login help, reset or change your password, and then click “link-Up.” These steps are also available as a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions).
Remember that you are required by USNH policy to change your passwords every six months. Frequently changing your password is easier now, thanks to login help. Mark your calendar, for six months from now, with a reminder to change your password at accounts.unh.edu.
Contact the UNH IT help desk at 2-4242 if you have any questions.
