Proposed Changes to Paid Leave and Prescription Drug Coverage On Hold
April 21, 2010
Proposed changes to benefits were discussed by the University System of New Hampshire's (USNH) System Personnel Policies Council (SPPC) last week but ultimately put on hold pending direction from the USNH board of trustees after concern was voiced that any benefit changes with an effective date of July 1, 2010, would not allow sufficient time for employees to provide feedback.
“The administration remains committed to offering fair compensation for all members of the UNH family and believes that any modifications to benefits should be consistent with the university's commitment to remaining an employer of choice,” said Dick Cannon, vice president for finance and administration.
The SPPC, which includes campus human resources officers and representatives from campus staff councils, agreed at its April 15, meeting to delay formal action on any changes to benefits pending decisions by the board of trustees relative to the Mercer total compensation report findings.
