Commute "Green" Next Week
May 6, 2009
Need a nudge to leave the car behind and finally take the bus or bike or walk to work? How about a free breakfast or a chance to win a weekend at the Mount Washington Resort?
Next week (May 11 – 15) is Green Commute Week in New Hampshire, a state Department of Transportation-sponsored event that’s capped off with Bike/Walk to Work Day on Friday. Commuters who bicycle, walk, carpool or use public transportation for at least two round-trips next week are eligible for a range of donated prizes, including that weekend at Bretton Woods. Learn more at the DOT Web site: http://www.nh.gov/dot/.
And plan to walk or bike to work next Friday and join other alternative commuters for a free commuter breakfast at the Wildcat statue, hosted by Seacoast Area Bicycle Routes along with Durham: It’s Where U Live and the UNH Office of Sustainability.
