Passing: Joe Durocher, Professor of Hospitality Management

Joseph Durocher, associate professor of hospitality management at the Whittemore School of Business and Economics, died Saturday, July 18, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Durocher was well known in hospitality circles and taught classes in beverage management as well as meetings, conventions, and events management.
Before coming to UNH in 1986, he taught at Cornell and at New York University where he founded the hotel management program. He and his wife, Regina, co-authored “Successful Restaurant Design.”
In addition to his wife of 24 years, he leaves three daughters, Debra Valdivieso, Lori McElroy, and Gail Durocher-Wentworth, and three grandchildren.
A celebration of his life is planned for August.
