In a continuing effort to build a more diverse campus, the UNH President's Commissions and the Office of Diversity Initiatives are seeking nominations for awards that honor those who have made outstanding contributions to promoting equity and inclusion for women, people of color, and GLBT persons. The award categories are:
- Women’s Commissions Awards
- Kidder Award
- Pink Triangle Awards
- President’s Award for Excellence through Diversity
- UNH Community Service Award from the Commission on the Status of People of Color
The President's Commission on the Status of Women recognizes a person or group that has made an outstanding contribution to promoting equity, advancing the status of women, and serving as a role model for women on campus. Nominations may be made in three categories: faculty, staff and student.
The Kidder Award is presented annually to the faculty, staff members and students whose outstanding efforts foster a greater understanding of sexual orientation.
The Pink Triangle Award honors leaders and heroes who have made outstanding contributions to efforts for equity and visibility for the GLBTQI community. Faculty, staff, students and community members are eligible.
The Excellence through Diversity Award is given to a faculty or staff member with a minimum of three years of service who has “demonstrated excellence through outstanding leadership in promoting equity, advancing the status of under-represented groups, and serving as a role model at UNH."
The nominee for the Community Service Award from the Commission on the Status of People of Color may not be employed by UNH or be a UNH student. The achievement award recognizes the work of a New Hampshire community member who has demonstrated outstanding community service and leadership through numerous initiatives.
