Workers involved with the renovation of James Hall put together an unofficial time capsule of items found during stages of demolition. Above, Lauren Slaven, assistant project manager for  Shawmut Construction and Brenda Whitmore, UNH project manager, examine a  newspaper from 1929 that had an article about the stock market crash of 1929.

The paper was being placed in the time capsule along with one from the fall of 2009 that had a story about the current stock market crash.

Old soda cans, coffee cups and a Bunsen burner were also placed in the capsule along with the business cards of employees involved with the project and several photos.

The official James Hall time capsule will be installed May 19.
