September 3, 2008
Tom Franke, assistant vice president and chief information officer of Computing and Information Services, has accepted the position of CIO and executive director of enterprise computing for the University System of New Hampshire.
He will maintain his current position as his primary role until a new CIO is hired for UNH or until June 2009, covering both responsibilities for UNH and USNH until then.
While still at UNH, Franke will focus on the development of the UNH Technology Master Plan, the full engagement of the UNH Steering Committee for Information Technology (SCIT), support for the UNH Banner Advancement implementation, continued progress on the USNH regional optical network project and the USNH Identity Management project.
In his new position, Franke, who has been at UNH for three years, will focus on planning, initiatives, and projects that impact the University System.
