A Call for Nominations for 2009 Commencement Awards
October 1, 2008
Dear colleagues,
Each year the University of New Hampshire recognizes individuals of extraordinary achievement at commencement by awarding honorary degrees and Granite State Awards as well as by featuring a keynote speaker.
Honorary degrees are given to individuals whose contributions have enhanced society as a whole. Granite State Awards are given to citizens, agencies, corporations or foundations whose achievements or services have enriched the state of New Hampshire in a significant way.
Commencement speakers are chosen based on their ability to enlighten graduates through shared experiences that educate and offer wisdom.
I encourage you to think about colleagues, acquaintances, alumni, and/or any individual who should be recognized or considered as a speaker. The university has featured its most inspiring keynote speakers and degree recipients through existing contacts and relationships within the campus community.
Please submit nominees online at: http://nominations.unh.edu/ for review by the Honorary Degrees and Granite State Awards Committee.
Best regards,
Mark W. Huddleston
