A recent event focused on world hunger raised more than $1,700 for the Cornucopia Food Pantry and the New Hampshire Food Bank.
The Empty Bowls meal took place Oct. 30 in the MUB. Empty Bowls is an international project aimed at fighting hunger. Participants are encouraged to make their own bowl and use it in a simple meal of soup and bread. Guests choose a bowl and take it home with them as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.
This year’s Empty Bowls at UNH was co-sponsored by UNH ONE, UNH Oxfam, The Community Leadership Program, the art and art history department, the Waysmeet Center and the Discovery Program.
