UNH ROTC Cadets Recognize Veterans Day Nov. 7

November 5, 2008

Join Air Force and Army cadets from UNH, along with the Friends of UNH ROTC, in a Veterans Day ceremony Friday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. in the MUB’s Granite State Room. The ceremony will pay respect to the nation's veterans and induct UNH alumni into the ROTC Hall of Fame. It is open to the public.

A joint Army and Air Force color guard will post the colors, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Cadets will read the biographies of the Hall of Fame inductees, and inductees will share remarks. During the ceremony, scholarships will be presented to cadets who have excelled in academics and military training.

The 2008 ROTC Hall of Fame inductees are:

Lieutenant Colonel Michael J. Burlage, ’73, U.S. Army (retired), Dover, N.H.

Captain David L. Eastman, ’65, U.S. Army (retired), Center Sandwich, N.H.

Sergeant Frederick R. Kuehn, ’49, U.S. Army (retired), Methuen, Mass.

Cadets will begin the day with reveille at 7 a.m. There will also be a flag vigil at the American flag in front of Thompson Hall, beginning at 7 a.m. Two cadets, one Army and one Air Force, will stand vigil at the flag until the Retreat Ceremony at 4 p.m.
